Catalysts for Change: ChIPs and the Future of Women in Innovation

ChIPs faced a significant challenge: how to elevate its mission of advancing women in technology, law, and policy in a landscape where women's representation in these fields remained persistently low. The organization needed a strategy that would boost its visibility, expand its reach, and strengthen its impact across interconnected industries. This required more than standard non-profit messaging—it demanded a platform that could attract high-profile supporters while building a sustainable community.

We defined ChIPs’ messaging to emphasize its role as a catalyst for progress in industries critical to innovation. The narrative showcased how ChIPs fosters diversity of thought and participation, creating pathways for women to drive advancements in their fields. This positioning reinforced the organization’s mission while amplifying its impact through high-profile events and programs.

ChIPs created a compelling platform for advocacy and engagement by convening influential leaders at signature events like the Global Summit. These efforts attracted prestigious moderators such as Nina Totenberg and participants including Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Kamala Harris, and Michelle K. Lee—cementing ChIPs’ reputation as a leading voice in gender equity across interconnected industries.

Key initiatives included: 

Global Summit: Hosting professionals annually to explore emerging technologies, policy trends, and professional development opportunities. 

NextGen Programs: Preparing nearly 200 associates each year through mock pitch sessions, oral arguments programs, and leadership training. 

ChIPs has grown into a powerful global movement with over 7,000 members across 31 chapters on five continents. By connecting women globally while acting locally through programs like NextGen leadership training and General Counsel Boot Camps, ChIPs continues to break barriers and build pathways for future generations of leaders.

Through strategic messaging and impactful programming, ChIPs has positioned itself as an essential force for innovation and equity in technology, law, and policy—empowering women to shape the future of these critical industries.
